OJEE publishes final merit list of MBBS/BDS admission 2023 – Times of India
More than 4,200 candidates have received state ranks to take part in the medical counselling which will start from Tuesday. The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) under the ministry of health and family welfare has started the counselling process from July 20. It will continue till September 30.
NEET-UG 2023 qualified candidates have already registered their names in Odisha state medical counselling. Only state natives are eligible for all the state quota MBBS and BDS seats in Odisha. However, other state candidates may be eligible for non-resident Indian (NRI) quota seats only.
OJEE will allot only 85 per cent of MBBS/BDS seats from medical and dental colleges in Odisha leaving the 15 per cent to all-India quota. MCC will allot the 15 per cent all-India quota. Besides, 15 per cent seats have been reserved under NRI quota in private medical and dental colleges.
“We will start the counselling process for our portion of medical seats from Tuesday keeping the MCC’s counselling in mind. Final seat matrix of the medical colleges will be published soon,” said Pravin Kumar Kar, OJEE chairman.
The state has 1800 seats from 11 state government medical colleges along with two private medical colleges and 500 seats of two deemed to be universities. OJEE will conduct counselling for 85 per cent of 1800 MBBS seats of 11 government and two private medical colleges in the state.
The state government will hold admission for 100 MBBS seats at the Saheed Rendo Majhi medical college and hospital at Bhawanipatna this year. This college has already received permission from the National Medical Commission (NMC) to hold admission from the academic session 2023-24.
