Octopath Traveler Champions of the Continent English Release Confirmed

Square Enix confirmed an English Western release of Octopath Traveler: Champions of the Continent is coming soon, and officially revealed a 2022 release date estimate.

Square Enix held on February 8, 2022, a live stream for Version 2.0.0 of Octopath Traveler: Champions of the Continent, detailing the game’s future roadmap with several gameplay sequences, and introducing new merch going on sale. The stream featured Champions of the Continent‘s producer Hiroto Suzuki, director Yasuhiro Kidera, and scenario writer Kakunoshin Futsuzawa. The stream also featured Yoshiko Shibao who voices Roro in-game as MC, and Atsuko Tanaka (voice-only), who voices Helmione, one of the three main villains.

Octopath Traveler Champions of the Continent Western release confirmed by Square Enix

At the 1:15:32 timestamp of the live stream, at the end of the announcements segment, Square Enix announced Octopath Traveler Champions of the Continent will release in English in 2022, in Europe and North America. A beta test will be held in Spring 2022, and more news will be coming in mid-February.

Note that Square Enix first teased back in September 2019 that Champions of the Continent would get a Western release in the long run. That was over a year before the mobile jRPG’s release in Japan on October 28, 2020.

Octopath Traveler: Champions of the Continent (English version) will launch in North America and Europe in 2022, wth a closed beta test planned for Spring 2022! We’ll have more details to share in mid-February, and hope all the fans out there are looking forward to it!

More Octopath Traveler is coming to consoles

Square Enix already confirmed a new Octopath Traveler game for consoles is currently in development. In January 2022, the series’ producer Tomoya Asano said he’ll announce and release multiple games in 2022 besides the already revealed Triangle Strategy, launching on Switch on March 4.

Octopath Traveler: Champions of the Continent (Tairiku no Hasha in Japanese) is the second game in the Octopath Traveler series, available in Japan on mobile.
