Nvidia GeForce RTX 4060 Ti Rumored to Have 160 W TGP; GPU Manufacturer Planning on Discontinuing Its MX Series of Cards

Following the release of the Nvidia RTX 4070 Ti GPUs at CES 2023, the rumour circles have begun to swirl around the company once again, as customers wait for the next range of graphics cards as part of the RTX 40 series featuring the new Ada Lovelace architecture.

Late last year, celebrated leaker kopite7kim had shared some rumoured details about the Nvidia RTX 4060 Ti GPU. At the time, the leak featured basic spec details of the rumoured GPU, which will be released next by Nvidia. However, kopite7kim has since updated the spec list, by claiming that the RTX 4060 Ti will have a 160W TGP.

The original rumour stated that the RTX 4060 Ti would have a TGP or Total Graphic Power of 220 W. However, with the recent update, it seems like Nvidia has plans to create a very efficient graphic card. This card won’t eat through power like a hungry baby.

Furthermore, the leaker later revealed that the upcoming GPU’s best comparison is with previous generation’s RTX 3070 GPU. However, instead of the 220W TGP of the last-generation GPU, the new one will offer similar power at less than 3/4 of the power. In the end, it will be interesting to see what Nvidia has to offer with this card when it soon will be officially announced.

Nvidia reportedly stopping development of MX series GPUs

A new report from ITHome (via videocardz.com) suggests that Nvidia might be looking to discontinue its MX series of GPUs. The latest model of the series is the MX570, which released back in late 2021. The series is Nvidia’s answer to providing GPU power at low TDPs. However, with both Intel and AMD offering better solutions with its integrated graphics, it seems like the Nvidia is ready to close shop for the MX series.
