NRL whacks Roosters enforcer for headbutt
Roosters lock Victor Radley faces a four-match suspension for a grade one striking charge in the Tricolours’ 24-22 loss to the Dragons on Friday night, the NRL match review committee ruled.
It’s Radley’s third offence and he can escape with a three-week ban with an early guilty plea, although he faces a month on the sidelines if he fights the charge at the NRL judiciary.
The Roosters player was put on report in the 14th minute for an alleged headbutt on Dragon Blake Lawrie in the middle of a heated scuffle between players from both teams.

Bizarrely, Raley was not marched to the sin bin following the incident.
Radley’s act was initially missed by referee Peter Gough and the Bunker, and it wasn’t until replays were flashed on the big screen that the incident was reviewed.

At half time, league great Greg Alexander suggested Radley was lucky to avoid being sent to the bin.
“He did lead with the head. The vision is there, have we stopped sin-binning people this week?” he said on Fox League’s commentary.
“Any other day he gets sent to the sin-bin.”
