A Chinese woman has now travelled to Pakistan to meet her boyfriend whom she friended and fell in love with on social media. This is the third such cross-border love story to come to light in the recent past.
First, it was a Pakistani woman called Seema Haider who escaped from her country and entered India via Nepal illegally to stay with her Indian boyfriend Sachin Meena. They got in touch through PUBG game during the pandemic.
The second case is Indian woman Anju going to Pakistan to meet her Facebook friend Nasrullah. There were reports that they had tied the knot, but the rumoured couple has denied it.

In yet another cross-border story, now the Chinese woman, identified by the media as Gao Feng, has gone to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province to meet her Pakistani lover.
The 21-year-old woman arrived in Islamabad on Wednesday by road from China via Gilgit on a three-month visit visa and she was picked up by her 18-year-old friend Javed, a resident of Bajaur tribal district bordering Afghanistan, PTI reported citing Pakistani officials.
She has gone to Javed’s maternal uncle’s home in Samarbagh tehsil of Lower Dir District instead of his hometown due to the security situation in Bajaur District bordering Afghanistan.
They got connected through Snapchat three years ago and their friendship blossomed into love.

According to District Police Officer Ziauddin of Lower Dir District, the Chinese woman in the Samarbagh area is under full security protection. However, her movement is restricted at the moment due to both the Muharram observances and prevailing security concerns in the region.
The police have verified that the woman’s travel documents are in order. It’s worth noting that she has not undergone the ‘nikah’ (marriage) ceremony with Javed as of now.
