London-based tech startup Nothing is set to launch its second smartphone, the Nothing Phone (2) on July 11. This launch event is expected to be a digital one and will be live-streamed on the company’s official website starting 8:30pm IST. Nothing has already confirmed a few key specs of the phone and has also released a teaser of the same. However, some Twitter users have also offered some suggestions regarding the upcoming smartphone to the company’s CEO, Carl Pei. In a latest tweet, a user named Momo asked Pei if Nothing could make smaller flagship phones like in the size of iPhone 13 mini.

Another user named PranitSarkar1 also expressed his longing from a smaller phone from Nothing. He also said that “for a competitive price” a smaller phone may be successful “considering iPhones(the mini) charging flagship prices, especially in countries like India.”

Why Nothing Phone (2) may not be a ‘small’ phone
Replying to the tweet, Pei explained that rationale behind not making a smaller phone. He said “very few people buy small phones.”

He also explained that a smaller smartphone model also needs similar investment as developing a “brand new” product.

The company has also confirmed that Nothing Phone (2) will be around 0.15-inches bigger than the Phone (1).
The latest teaser of the upcoming smartphone shows the glyph interface that will be available on the Nothing Phone (2). The design looks very similar to that of the Phone (1). Pei has also reacted to the memes on the social media platform that suggested that the Nothing Phone (2) will look just like the Phone (1).
Responding to the meme, Pei said “just you wait and see!” Earlier, he also shared a cryptic tweet to dismiss the leaked renders that also hinted that there wouldn’t be any significant design changes in the Phone (2).
