Nothing Phone (1) to soon receive Android 14 Beta – Times of India
Phone (1) will be one of the first phones outside Google’s Pixel lineup to get the Android 14 Beta update. Although no other OEM has announced the plans for Android 14 Beta for their smartphones, we expect that Google will open access to more manufacturers after the Android 14 announcement at I/O.
If you have a Pixel 4a 5G or newer model, you can try out the Android 14 right now.
However, it is unknown if the Phone (1) will run Google’s Android 14 Beta build, or if it will be an Android 14-based NothingOS build.
Nothing faced some delays with the Android 13 update for Phone (1). But, with early access to Android 14 Beta, Phone (1) users can expect a sooner rollout of the stable Android 14-based NothingOS build.
Android 14 introduces several new features, such as a modified back arrow for gesture navigation, location-based loyalty card recommendations, and fresh PIN animations. However, it is not known if all the Android 14 features will be available for Nothing Phone (1) or not.
Google is expected to unveil Android 14 at the I/O keynote on May 10. We will get to know more about Android 14 features, an updated timeline, and what other smartphone makers are bringing out the support for Android 14 Beta.
After a buggy beta release earlier this month, Google released an iterative build with bug fixes for Android 14 Beta testers. The Android 14 Beta 1.1, currently rolling out for beta testers, fixing bugs users faced on their Pixel smartphones after the beta update.
