‘Nothing has tickled us in a decade!’ Ant and Dec admit struggle to find show

Ant McPartlin, 46, and Declan Donnelly, 46, also known as Ant & Dec, are the most popular TV presenters of the 21st century, having won the Presenter Award at the National Television Awards for 20 consecutive years. The presenting pair are currently promoting their new quiz show, Limitless Win, a show the pair admitted to being the only one to grab them in the last decade.

The show makes the presenting pairs first new programme in around ten years.

Speaking to PA, Dec admitted: “Nothing has really tickled us in the last 10 years, nothing’s really grabbed us.

“And the first time we played this, we were like, ‘Oh my God, I love it. I love it’.”

Limitless Win sees contestants compete for the world’s first unlimited jackpot.

The quiz sees players answer increasingly challenging questions and ascend a never-ending money ladder with each correct answer.

However, if contestants push their luck too far they could end up losing it all.

Speaking to Express.co.uk and other press, Dec went into detail about what makes this new ITV show stand out.

He said: “Most of the time quizmasters have the question in front of them with the answer and they are testing the contestants, whereas we’re on the journey with them.

“We are going along for the ride,” he said, explaining how they aren’t given the answers before the show.

This will be the pair’s first game show however.

Ant & Dec formed after the pair met as child actors on CBBC’s drama Byker Grove, where they performed as pop musicians PJ & Duncan.

Their previous hosting credits include SMTV Live, Friends Like These, Pop Idol, PokerFace and Push the Button to name a few.

In addition to presenting, the pair both had leading roles in the 2006 film Alien Autopsy.

The film gained positive reviews with critics but lost more than half of its budget at the box office.

It has since gained a strong following however, with the pair reprising their roles as PJ and Duncan on Saturday Night Takeaway in 2013.

In 2020, the duo was awarded the Guinness World Record for “the most National Television Awards won consecutively for Best Presenter”.

Ant and Dec’s Limitless Win premieres Saturday, January 8 at 8:30pm on ITV.
