No One Left to Fight Returns for Round 2 at Dark Horse

This October, Aubrey Sitterson and Fico Ossio’s Dark Horse Comics title No One Left to Fight returns for part two.

Following its initial five-issue run, writer Aubrey Sitterson and artist Fico Ossio’s manga-influenced Dark Horse Comics series No One Left to Fight returns for round two this October.

No One Left to Fight II is set to launch in comic shops on Wednesday, Oct. 13. “No One Left to Fight was never intended to be a five-part story,” Ossio explained during an interview with Entertainment Weekly.

“The first saga was planned to be a 10-issue story in two parts,” the artist continued. “That’s why it ended in such a brutal cliffhanger! More than anything, I’m excited to finally complete the first saga and give the fans the proper ending they are waiting for! And also make way for the next sagas we have planned. We have so much more to show of the Fightverse, and it’s always exciting to dive back into it.”

“This is a genre in and of itself: fight comics,” added Sitterson. “It is one of the most popular and enduring genres anywhere in the world — whether you’re talking about Dragon Ball or Naruto or the classic stuff like Fist of the North Star or Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure. This stuff is massively, massively popular all over the world, and yet it’s a genre that Americans don’t actually engage with too often. There’s hardly a whole lot of home-grown fight comics. So that’s what we really set out to do. That’s what we attempted to lift from manga: doing that genre, but in monthly, direct-market, 20-page comics.”

No One Left to Fight first launched two years ago in July of 2019. The comic’s premise is “a story of regret, resentment and growing older” that poses the question, ”What does a fighter do when there’s no one left to fight?” The book’s initial five-issue run concluded in November of 2019, with a trade paperback arriving in March of 2020.

The No One Left to Fight TPB conspicuously featured the number “1” on its spine, which seemed to imply that a second volume would arrive at some point. In addition to now officially confirming No One Left to Fight II, Sitterson and Ossio have also expressed interest in doing more with the title in the future.
