NITK, Surathkal to pair up with MP for Yuva Sangam – Times of India

Mangaluru: National Institute of Technology Karnataka (NITK) Surathkal is organizing phase two of ‘Yuva Sangam’ programme under the ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’ initiative to strengthen people-to-people connect among the youth of the country.
Under this scheme, Karnataka has been paired with Madhya Pradesh, with NITK, Surathkal, and NIT Bhopal as nodal institutions, respectively. A team of 45 youths between the age of 18 to 30 from Karnataka will visit Madhya Pradesh to participate in this immersive programme. The institution has invited applications from students.
Yuva Sangam is an initiative of Government of India which focuses on conducting exposure tours of the youths comprising mainly students studying in Higher Educational institutions (HEIs) and some off-campus youths from one state to other states & vice versa.
The programme is scheduled for the months of April-May 2023.The exposure tours are set to last between five to seven days, providing a unique opportunity for young people to gain multidimensional experiences under five broad areas – Paryatan (Tourism), Parampara (Traditions), Pragati (Development), Prodyogik (Technology), and Paraspar Sampark (People-to-people connect). The tours are primarily targeted towards students studying in Higher Educational Institutions (HEIs) and some off-campus youths.
Several ministries, including education, culture, tourism, information and broadcasting, Railways, home affairs, youth affairs, Department of Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER), and sports, are participating in this initiative, with each ministry responsible for implementing its part of the programme.
Interested natives of Karnataka in the age group of 18 to 30 years from various districts may register on the portal https://ebsb.aicte-india.org/. Register before April 9, 2023. The selection of youths for this programme will be based on the criteria formulated by the Ministry of Education. The Government of India is funding the scheme, and the successful implementation of this programme will go a long way in promoting national integration and mutual understanding between different regions of India.
