NITK, Surathkal to organise 24 hour ‘HackVerse 3.0’ – Times of India

MANGALURU: The National Institute of Technology Karnataka (NITK), Surathkal is organizing ‘HackVerse 3.0’, a student-led, 24-hour national-level hackathon from February 26.

It is organized annually since NITK’s Diamond Jubilee Year 2019-20, HackVerse has served as a platform to encourage enthusiastic minds to brainstorm on solutions for challenging issues from all over India. The unified motive of gathering all like-minded hackers to our alma mater led to the creation of the idea in NITK, Surathkal, the first of its kind. The event provides a platform for innovations where developers can test and showcase their potential to the best of their abilities.

HackVerse 3.0 has received substantial sponsorship from a host of companies including Wells Fargo, DigitalOcean, IDP, echo3D, BPB, Alan AI, GeeksforGeeks and more. The hackathon offers cash prizes of more than Rs 2 lakhs to the top-performing teams. This includes five new tracks introduced this year –CosMic Express, AndroMedia, Plan-et Well, HealThyself, Hack-a-block– each one unique in its own way. Other exciting goodies, platform credits, coding platform access, courses and prizes worth more than Rs. 50 lakhs will be offered to the participants. Applications for HackVerse 3.0 close on February 24.
The judging panel of HackVerse 3.0 consists of distinguished industry experts like Anjali Sheel (Software engineer II at Microsoft), Ashish Banerjee (technology evangelist at QZip.in), Salman Shah (SDE-1 at Microsoft), Rahul Verma (BackEnd SDE-2 at Koo). Suresh Reddy (senior vice president and distinguished engineer of digital transformation and innovation at Wells Fargo India and Philippines) will also grace the event.

The event is a student-organized hackathon with an organizing team of 60 students and faculty members. Prakriti Goyal is the lead convener and Ritik Pansuriya is the technical lead for this event, both BTech final year students from NITK, Surathkal. Other student organizing team leads include Atreya Majumdar, Gaurav Chaurasia, Jahnavi Kancharla, Kriti Shukla, Neha Mane, Ramyashree G K, Rithik Jain, Sudeepthi Nalla and Yogesh.
