NISD sponsored 03-days programme on ‘Social Defense..’ concludes at SKPA – Times of India

Jammu, Sept 26: 03 days training programme on “Social Defense including Transgender persons, Beggary Prevention, Old age Care, Drug Abuse Prevention” sponsored by National Institute of Social Defence(NISD) , Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment New Delhi concluded at SKPA Udhampur on Monday.
Pawan Kumar Sharma, SP, SKPA was the Chief Guest on the occasion of valediction, SKPA spokesperson said here today.
In his valedictory address, chief guest Mr Sharma said that the programme being first of its kind provided an opportunity to the participants to share their experiences and ideas on Social Defense issues.
SKPA spokesperson said, “The training programme involved discussions and deliberations on Social Defence issues of Old age care, Maintenance and welfare of parent and Senior Citizens, Drug abuse, Transgenders, Beggary Prevention, Drug de-addiction and rehabilitation centers, Roles of Police department.
The programme was designed to address the distinct needs of social stigma and helping them to improve their upskills. Interactions with accomplished, experienced and distinctive faculty members and other high achieving peers facilitated in enriching the participants experience and insights resulting in holistic learning.
The course was coordinated by Sukhvir Singh, Asstt. Director (Admn) and Tarsem Kumar, Inspector.
