NHS and society
Undeserving. Indolent. Unaccommodating. These are words in local society, which are describing the NHS. Locally, people think the NHS are not doing enough for areas such as: Hayes, Harlington, and many more. The claims that have been made are quite baffling and difficult to believe. In this article, I will be discussing whether the NHS is doing enough for citizens in local areas. Do you have a problem with the NHS?
In my opinion, I think the NHS are trying their hardest to help everyone in every way possible. The reason I say this is because, since Covid has changed our lives, there is more stress on hospital workers. Along with that people are suffering from severe problems that have to be dealt with as well. Currently, 303 people have died within 28 days of having tested positive for Covid-19. Approximately, 18000 cases of Covid occur in hospitals, meaning that there are more staff working, and more staff being complaisant. The NHS in every way is trying to benefit and save people in need.
The NHS work on average 37.5 hours over a week, however this has increased due to Covid meaning more shifts and more work. NHS employees have been working hours and hours to help stop the spread of Covid. People have claimed,’’ The NHS have been selfish, not worrying about people in need.’’ I find this perpetuous and undermining, to think that the NHS are lazy. It is wrong to think that they are not committed to their jobs.
In conclusion, we should give NHS workers more respect, due to the fact, they work more hours than the average key workers, and have tried their best to help to stop the spread of Covid.
