NFL 2023 schedule: Breaking down the 10 must-see games

The 2023 NFL schedule is full of both playoff rematches and fresh starts.

The final seven games of the 2022 postseason all will be replayed.

But there are new head coaches, new quarterbacks and new-look rivalries to follow, too.

Here are The Post’s 10 games to watch, excluding those featuring the Giants or Jets:

Packers at Broncos, Week 7

Two new eras collide — Jordan Love as Packers quarterback and Sean Payton as Broncos head coach. Can Love continue an esteemed tradition?

Can Payton revive Russell Wilson after a scary bad season by the nine-time Pro Bowl quarterback?

The Broncos traded three first-round picks and three seconds (plus more) to unite Wilson and Payton.

Eagles at Chiefs, Week 11

A rematch of the Kelce Bowl … or the Reid Bowl … or Super Bowl LVII.

Seven months after Travis Kelce’s Chiefs beat older brother Jason’s Eagles with a 10-point second-half comeback to give head coach Andy Reid a win against his former team, they meet again.

The Eagles re-signed cornerback James Bradberry after his controversial penalty sealed their Super Bowl fate.

49ers at Eagles, Week 13

We’ll never know how last season’s NFC Championship game would’ve turned out if the injury-plagued 49ers had a viable quarterback to play in the second half.

Who will it be in the rematch? Brock Purdy, whose recovery from a UCL repair could stretch into the season?

Trey Lance?

Sam Darnold?

The 49ers poached DT Javon Hargrave in free agency, but somehow the Eagles still improved over the offseason.

Bengals at Chiefs, Week 17

Before the New Year’s Eve ball drops, watch a rematch of the last two AFC Championship games and a possible preview of another.

Joe Burrow has won three of the last four meetings against Patrick Mahomes.

Left tackle Orlando Brown Jr. is blocking for Burrow now, after he mistakenly turned down a bigger offer to stay with the Chiefs.

Is this to determine the AFC’s No. 1 seed?

Texans at Panthers, Week 8

Will Bryce Young and C.J. Stroud both be starting by then?

If so, it will be the fifth time since 1967 that quarterbacks drafted No. 1 and No. 2 overall meet as rookies.

The Panthers traded a small fortune to draft Young.

The Texans took Stroud and then traded up to No. 3 to draft Will Anderson, who could be trying to sack his former Alabama teammate.

Dolphins at Chargers, Week 1

If the Chiefs, Bengals and Bills are the AFC’s three best teams, who’s next?

The winner of this game could provide an answer.

The Dolphins drafted Tua Tagovailoa one pick before the Chargers took Justin Herbert in 2020.

They’ve already split two head-to-head meetings.

Tagovailoa had the inside track to an MVP pre-injury, but Herbert was first to a playoff win.

Bills at Bengals, Week 9

It’s impossible to imagine what Bills safety Damar Hamlin — who recently was cleared to return to football — will be feeling when he steps onto the same field where he suffered cardiac arrest during a January game that was canceled.

This game also is a rematch of a playoff game won by the Bengals on the road.

The Bills face as much pressure as any team this season.

Ravens-Browns, Week 4

This game’s about two quarterbacks who need to live up to massive contracts.

Lamar Jackson is the NFL’s highest-paid player and has the best weaponry of his career with Odell Beckham Jr. and Zay Flowers.

Deshaun Watson — who got the fully guaranteed contract that Jackson initially sought — was not very good in six games last season after a 27-game absence.

Margin for error in the AFC North is razor thin.

Lions-Vikings, Week 16

An Aaron Rodgers-less NFC North is wide open. Everyone is buying into the Lions’ hype.

They were 8-2 after Halloween last season and added two first-round draft picks.

By this point, Jameson Williams will be back from his six-game gambling suspension.

Are the Vikings frauds?

They went 13-4 but were outscored in the regular season and lost at home in the playoffs.

Dalvin Cook could be gone soon.

This is the first of two meetings in the final three weeks of the season.

Eagles-Cowboys, Week 14

The NFC East hasn’t had a repeat winner since 2005 — the longest streak of any division in NFL history.

The top-heavy Cowboys have the best shot to unseat the defending champion Eagles, who appear to be in a class of their own atop the conference.

Jalen Hurts and Dak Prescott didn’t square off in either meeting last season.
