Newcastle ‘nailed on’ for top four as Brighton and Liverpool close in on Man Utd

MANCHESTER UNITED’S recent form looks to have let Liverpool and Brighton back into the top four race.

That’s according to bookmakers Betfair, who reckon Newcastle are as good as nailed on at a short price.

Man Utd’s defeat at the Seagulls in midweek narrowed the gap between the pair in the Premier League.

And after chucking away a 2-0 lead at Spurs just over a week ago, their top four odds have eased considerably.

From a position of strength at 1/16, they’re now 1/7 — admittedly still a short price.

But they’ll be anxiously looking over their shoulder, with Liverpool’s odds cutting from 7/1 to 7/2 in the past 10 days.

With five wins on the bounce, Jurgen Klopp’s men are now just four points off United, but have played a game more.

Brighton are four more behind Liverpool, but have two games in hand on them and one on United and are now 12/1 for top four.

Newcastle are two clear of United in third, both with five games to go and are 1/16 with Betfair now to finish in those coveted spots.

They play host to title chasing Arsenal next with Brighton and Leicester to visit St James’ before season end, with trips to Leeds and Chelsea to come.

Man Utd have Wolves, Chelsea and Fulham to visit Old Trafford, with trips to West Ham this weekend and Bournemouth later this month.

Liverpool host Brentford this weekend before Leicester (A), Aston Villa (H) and Southampton (A) to come.

While Brighton have the most games to play and welcome Everton, Southampton and Man City, with tricky trips to Arsenal, Newcastle and Aston Villa.
