Newcastle ace Kieran Trippier faces spell out with ‘broken bone’ in big blow to Eddie Howe
Newcastle boss Eddie Howe has been given a big blow after it was revealed that star right-back Kieran Trippier broke a bone in his foot during the Magpies’ 1-0 Premier League victory over Aston Villa on Sunday. Newcastle signed Trippier from Atletico Madrid during the January transfer window.
Newcastle stumped up just £12million to sign Trippier, and the player has been a revelation since moving to St James’ Park.
The England international made his Premier League debut for Newcastle against Watford in mid-January as he helped his side to a 1-1 draw.
He then starred as his team secured only their second win of the season by defeating Leeds United a week later.
And he scored a sensational free-kick on his third league appearance for Howe’s men as Newcastle thumped Everton 3-1 last week.
Trippier illustrated his set-piece prowess once again on Sunday as he fired a free-kick past Villa goalkeeper Emi Martinez 10 minutes before half time.

Trippier has clearly had a positive impact on his team-mates since returning to the Premier League.
His arrival has coincided with Newcastle’s upturn in fortunes and the Magpies moved four points clear of the relegation zone following their win against the Villans.
Howe’s side had spent much of the campaign marooned at the bottom of the Premier League table and had only won one match before the January transfer window.
But with Norwich, Watford and Burnley now struggling below them, Newcastle will be confident of avoiding the drop to the Championship.
Howe will clearly have to find a solution to his latest setback to ensure his team can build on their recent form.
Trippier was replaced by Emil Krafth against Villa and the Sweden international could keep his place for his side’s upcoming encounters.
Newcastle visit West Ham on Saturday before travelling to London again a week later to face Brentford.
And with home clashes against Brighton and Crystal Palace following in March, Newcastle chiefs will be confident of racking up the points they need in the coming weeks.
