New Resident Evil 4 Remake Update 1.05 Adresses Texture Issues on XSX and Makes Dead Zones More Responsive

Resident Evil 4 Remake update 1.05 has been released across all platforms, and we’re pretty sure that Xbox Series X players will be happy with it.

Capcom released an update for its latest Resident Evil Remake earlier this month. While this update improved the visuals on PlayStation 5 and the dead zone on Xbox, it seemingly did lower the image quality and performance of Xbox Series X. After installing the 1.04 patch, various Xbox players reported shimmering and aliasing issues alongside blurry visuals in both the game’s Performance and Resolution mode.

From the looks of it, however, the new 1.05 update for Resident Evil 4 Remake does address some of these reported issues for Xbox Series X players. While this new patch contains fixes for several issues across all platforms, the official release notes also mention fixes for changes that were made via the above-mentioned 1.04 update. Included fixes on Xbox Series X include changes to the graphics rendering process as well fixes to the stick dead zone.

On Reddit, user ‘Deus-Ex-MJ’ has posted his experiences with the new 1.05 update on the Series X, and apparently, the encountered texture issues have seemingly been fixed. “There is next to no texture pop-in delay playing on Resolution Mode + RT OFF + Hair Strands OFF”, the user wrote. “This applies to both cinematics as well as after opening and closing inventory/map screens on my end.”

In addition, the patch also appears to make the stick dead zones more responsive, and the shimmering issues have been greatly mitigated. “Shimmering artifact majorly improved”, ‘Deus-Ex-MJ’  writes on Reddit. “Many had particularly noticed it on Ashley’s hair, but her hair is fine now. Similarly, the excessive shimmering seen on the alternative title screen (the one that shows up once you’ve beaten the game) has been mitigated.”
