New Look prepare to close more shops this summer – list of locations affected

The iconic British fashion brand closed eight of its UK stores earlier this year and another two of its 400 shops will shut its doors as it pivots towards selling products online.

New Look shops already closed this year:

  • Birmingham, Fort Shopping Park – January 9
  • Trowbridge – January 23
  • Coventry – January 29
  • Birmingham, Bullring – January 30
  • Walthamstow, London – February 4
  • Witham – May 18
  • Teesside Retail Park – July 7
  • Middlesbrough – July 8

New Look shops closing soon:

  • White Rose shopping complex in Rhyl, north Wales – July 25
  • Bristol’s King’s Chase Shopping Centre – August 9

On 16 July, New Look Rhyl posted news of closing down and a sale on it’s Facebook page.

The caption read: “Big sale on in store! All sale tops £3. All sale bottoms £5. All sale coats £7. All sale dresses £7. All sale accessories £1. All sale bags £5. All sale footwear £5. Thanks again for having us Rhyl! we will miss you all! – Team Rhyl.”

The image read: “New Look. This isn’t goodbye…Our store will be closing soon, but we’re never far away. You can still shop the styles you love online at newlook.com or download our app for more styles, colours and sizes at a swipe.”

On 17 July, Kings Chase Shopping Centre announced the upcoming closure of its New Look store.

The post read: “Sadly, after many years with us here at Kings Chase, New Look will be closing their doors for the final time on Wednesday 9th August.

“We would like to thank Carol and the New Look Kingswood team for their service over the years and we wish them all the very best for the future.

“Make sure you stay tuned for exciting updates about who will be replacing them soon!”

New Look fans in Bristol were disappointed by the news. Nicole Bendle commented: “Shame it’s closing

Only decent shop left in Kingswood.”

Karen Nicholson agreed: “This is such a shame. We need more clothes shops in Kingswood not less.”

Stephanie Lock wondered: “The only decent clothes shop on the high street! Where is this regeneration we are promised?We need more clothes shops not less.”
