Critics have labelled the design of the new Lamborghini Lanzador as “hideous” and “one of the ugliest things I’ve seen on four wheels”.

Yet while others are admiring fans, there has been one element of the design attracting special scorn.

Motoring expert Matthew Watson shared on TikTok a video review of the new model, after getting a glimpse at this month’s Geneva Motor Show – this year being hosted in Qatar.

His 86-second clip giving a tour of the vehicle, posted on his @matwatsoncars account, does praise its cabin which he described as looking “amazing”.

The motoring analyst from London also hailed its “lovely sports seats”, adding: “Loving the steering wheel as well.”

He described the climate controls as looking “like something off a rocket” and also highlighted its 1,300 horsepower while also being “all-electric”.

But Matthew’s video review prompted criticism of the electric button setting to open the new Lamborghini’s doors.

He explained in the clip: “To open it, you press this little button here – put your fingers in that recess and then open the door.”

But comments in response suggested people were unimpressed.

One viewer wrote: “The way to open the door is just awful and I think they’re overdoing it.”

Others suggested, “Door is shocking”, “Not buying that due to them doors” and “How to break your nails”.

There was more backlash against the new model with remarks such as “This is the definition of ugly”, “It’s hideous”, “Couldn’t have made it any uglier if they tried” and “One of the ugliest things I’ve seen on four wheels”.

Yet there also appeared to be plenty of fans too.

One admirer wrote: “Not a fan of electric cars but Lamborghini are going out of their comfort zone – I like it.”

Others responded by saying “Best interior I’ve ever seen by far”, “Light as a feather” and “Looks like it should fly – what a sexy design”.

Celebrity owners of other Lamborghinis include England footballers Dele Alli, who recently got a parking ticket after lunch with a former Tottenham Hotspur team-mate, and Manchester City’s Jack Grealish who left his on double yellow lines.

Others include Kerry Katona, seen this summer in one costing £180,000 and Stormzy, who has a stable of motors.

Lamborghini revealed its first all-electric model in 2017, the Terza Millenio.

The Sun Online has approached Lamborghini for comment in response to the TikTok criticisms of the Lanzador.
