New intake round begins to fill vacant pharmacy courses – Times of India

The Admission Committee for Professional Courses (ACPC) has started the second round of admissions in pharmacy degree and diploma courses. The committee will fill up a total 1,886 seats that are vacant after completion of the first round. As per committee figures a total of 5,013 were allotted seats in the first round. In the first round, 13,066 students were included in the merit list and 7,982 of these students had filled up their choices.
Committee figures show that there are 5,099 pharmacy seats in the state of which 1,886 had remained vacant after completion of the first round. The committee will declare college allotment on November 25. The committee will announce details of the vacant seats on November 30 and if there are seats that remain vacant it will begin the third round of admissions.
The mock round of choice filling for admissions in pharmacy degree and diploma courses has started from November 7 and concluded on November 9. Sources said that the committee had earlier registered students and had also started the mock round but did not announce the results as seats were not available.
Sources said that as a few colleges’ applications for approval were pending with the Pharmacy Council of India seats were not available. As the council sanctioned permissions to new pharmacy colleges the committee had announced to reconduct the mock round again and started the choice filling for the first round.
