Netizens welcome ‘Elona’, the new Twitter CEO with hilarious memes!
Twitter’s CEO, Elon Musk, recently took to social media to reveal that he has selected a new CEO to lead the platform that he acquired last year. This announcement has caused a buzz of excitement and speculation as to who the new CEO might be.
The Wall Street Journal has reported that Linda Yaccarino, who currently serves as the head of advertising at NBC Universal, is said to be a top contender for the position.
Although Elon Musk made a significant announcement regarding Twitter’s future, social media users used this opportunity to poke fun at Musk, who calls himself the “Chief Meme Officer” of the microblogging platform.
Twitter users welcomed the new CEO of the company with hilarious memes depicting Musk wearing a wig. Some even made humorous guesses that the new CEO might be “Elona!”
“Excited to announce that I’ve hired a new CEO for X/Twitter. She will be starting in ~6 weeks! My role will transition to being exec chair & CTO, overseeing product, software & sysops”, Musk tweeted.
Another Twitter user posted a morphed image of Donald Trump with wig requesting, “Please don’t do this” as the caption.
In addition to taking over as CEO of Twitter, the new appointee will also replace Elon Musk as the head of Twitter’s newly named X Corporation parent company. Along with the humorous wig-wearing memes featuring Musk as the supposed new CEO of the platform, many Twitter users also shared amusing videos of a dog sitting on a chair, playfully suggesting that the canine might be the new CEO of the microblogging site.
Meanwhile, based on information available on her LinkedIn profile, Linda Yaccarino has been a top executive at NBC Universal for a decade, joining the company in 2011. She currently holds the prestigious position of Chairperson for Global Advertising and Partnerships.
Prior to this role, Yaccarino served as the head of the cable entertainment and digital advertising sales division. Before joining NBC Universal, Yaccarino spent almost two decades at Turner, where she held several executive positions. Her final role at Turner was Executive Vice President and COO of Turner Entertainment Ad Sales. Yaccarino earned a liberal arts and telecommunications degree from Penn State University.
