Netflix Acquires Will Smith’s Upcoming Movie Fast and Loose

Netflix has acquired worldwide rights for an upcoming action thriller. According to Deadline, the streaming platform has acquired Will Smith-starrer Fast & Loose from STXfilms.

Every major streaming platform was involved in the bidding war for Fast & Loose and Netflix eventually won the rights. Directed by Deadpool and John Wick’s David Leitch, the movie follows a man who wakes up in Tijuana without any memories. As he starts putting together his past experiences, he realizes that he has been living a double life – a crime kingpin and an undercover CIA agent. Fast and Loose will be produced by Leitch, Smith, Jon Mone, James Lassiter, and Ryan Shimazaki.

The official synopsis of Fast & Loose reads, “After the leader of an upper-echelon criminal organization suffers memory loss from an attack, he reunites with his crew, only to find that things aren’t what he thinks they are. When John Riley (Smith) wakes up in Tijuana after being left for dead with absolutely no memory, he follows a string of clues to uncover his identity discovering he’s been living two different lives: one, as a super-successful crime kingpin, surrounded by beautiful women, expensive toys, and a lavish lifestyle and the other as an undercover CIA agent, but with a puny salary, no family or home life whatsoever, and zero trappings of success. The problem is, he can’t remember which of these two personas is his true identity, and, more importantly, which life he really wants to live.”

Fast & Loose is set to be another major action movie on Netflix similar to The Old Guard and Extraction. Details regarding the release date of Fast and Loose aren’t revealed yet.
