NetEase to Include AI-Powered ChatGPT in Upcoming MMO Title
After creating quite the stir in the real world, ChatGPT is all set to shake up the gaming world as well, as NetEase plans on incorporating the new technology into its upcoming game.
According to video games analyst Daniel Ahmad, the Chinese tech company will be introducing elements of ChatGPT through its upcoming MMO title, Justice Online Mobile. The game’s new addition will allow players to have unique conversations and dialogue with many of the game’s NPCs.
With Generative AI being all over the headlines these days, NetEase says it’ll launch launch the first game version of ChatGPT in Justice Online Mobile, its upcoming MMO title.

As Ahmad pointed out in his tweets, the addition of ChatGPT will be one to watch, as it could be the answer to having a multitude of conversation for players. The analyst revealed that it will allow players to have conversations with NPCs that are “fully voiced, emotive and impactful.”
They plan to scale the use of AI to support task generation, content creation, character customization and more.
Only 1 demo so far, so unclear how in depth it is or if it’s just a marketing gimmick for now.

In his tweets, Ahmad also mentioned that NetEase has plans to use ChatGPT to help with “task generation, content creation, character customization and more.” So far, the developers have showcased a demo of its use, and it will be interesting to see if the inclusion of ChatGPT will bear any fruits soon.
