NCS Portal 2023: NCS Portal 2023: National Career Service portal records 35.7 lakh vacancies in 2022-23 – Times of India
NEW DELHI: The National Career Service (NCS) has registered 35.7 lakh vacancies in 2022-23, said the labour ministry. The National Career Service was implemented by the Ministry of Labour and Employment to provide a platform for employment-related services like job matching, career counselling, internship, etc.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the National Career Service (NCS) in 2015. This is for the first time since its inception that the portal has recorded these many vacancies, informed the labour ministry. Last year, the NCS portal recorded just 13 lakh vacancies.
NCS 2022-23 has reported a massive increase of 175 per cent in vacancies compared to last year. While the highest active vacancies count was over 5.3 lakh on October 30, 2022.
The increase in vacancies is reported across all sectors. The highest is registered in the finance and insurance sector with a massive growth of 800 per cent as compared to the previous year. About 20.8 lakh vacancies are reported in finance and insurance compared to 2.2 lakh in 2021-22.
Whereas, the vacancies in operations and support have increased from 76 thousand last year to 3.75 lakh in 2022-23, an increase of 400 per cent.
Among other sectors to receive a significant increase in vacancies include Hotels, Food Service and Catering, Health Education, Manufacturing, etc.
NCS portal has also managed to achieve a milestone of registering 1 million employers for the first time. The highest is from the service sector (6.5 lakh), followed by the manufacturing sector.
