This could lead to a fresh row between the state and the Centre, said observers.
State minister Nawab Malik of the NCP alleged that three individuals detained by the NCB following the raid were let off by the agency. He claimed that Rishabh Sachdeva, Amir Furniturewala and Pratik Gaba were detained, along with Aryan Khan and others on October 2, but the three were let off after the intervention of BJP leaders.
“Rishabh Sachdeva is the brother-in-law of Mumbai BJP leader Mohit Kamboj. He was detained along with Furniturewala and Gaba and taken to the NCB office. However, they were let off after a few hours. We have information that the NCB got calls from BJP leaders from Delhi and hence released the three,” said Malik.
The NCP leader alleged that Furniturewala and Gaba were let off even though they were the ones who had invited Aryan Khan to the cruise. “There were no drugs recovered, this was a pre-planned conspiracy to trap Aryan. There were 1,300 people on the cruise. However, they detained only these eight while the organisers and those who invited Aryan have been let off scot-free,” said Malik.
He also produced video clips which he said showed the three being detained and taken into the NCB office on October 2 and then being let off.
Malik said that the state police or the anti-narcotics cell of the state government should investigate the phone records of the three detained and whether any phone calls were made to the NCB zonal director Sameer Wankhede by BJP leaders.
