Naughty Dog Gives Fans The Last of Us: Part 1 Firefly Edition Stock Update

Naughty Dog has announced that The Last of Us: Part 1’s FireFly Edition will get another limited restock next week. From September 2nd, 2022 – the game’s release date – players will be able to place their order at 12AM ET in the U.S. This is another chance for dedicated fans after the previous sale concluded with all copies being sold within one hour. The edition will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis, and it’ll be available exclusively through the Direct Playstation website.

The Firefly Edition package includes The Last of Us single-player story and the Left Behind prequel chapter, packaged in a limited edition Steelbook along with American Dreams Comics #1 – #4 with new cover art. Players will also get an early unlock for some in-game items and skills including Crafting, Healing, Reload Speed, and Rifle Clip Capacity upgrades. Each edition also comes with six weapon skins for all of the main weapons in the game, like Black Gold and Silver Filigree for 9mm pistols, Rubber Tactical and Sculpted Oak for Shotguns, in addition to Arctic White and Carbon Black for bows.

The Standard Edition, (69.99$) and the Deluxe Edition (79.99$) are also now available for preorder, and the Deluxe Edition buyers will also be granted access to the early unlocks and weapon skins, so fans need not to worry about missing out on any digital content in the Firefly Edition. This edition is priced at 99.99$ and is currently exclusive to North America. However, there is hope as Naughty Dog has stated that it’s currently exploring options for EU players and working with Sony Interactive Entertainment to see what can be done for fans outside of North America.

Naughty Dog recently released a new trailer featuring the new accessibility options that have been developed for the third iteration of the game.

The Last of Us is celebrated worldwide for its powerful and soul-stirring story, but accessibility was another unique component that helped as many fans as possible to experience the game without any barriers, including players with hearing, seeing, or motor disabilities. There are more than 60+ accessibility options in the game and complete customization support for the PS5’s DualSense controller.

The Last of Us: Part 1 will release on September 2nd, 2022, the same day as the Firefly Edition restock, so fans who still want to opt for this edition might need to be aware of spoilers on that day – that’s assuming they haven’t played the game before.

The Last of Us: Part 1 is also being adapted into a TV series intended for a 2023 release. The show will tell the story of Ellie and her father figure Joel in a post-apocalyptic United States where humans have turned into zombie-like monstrosities. The Last of Us: Part 2 is currently available on PS4 and playable on PS5 with enhancements.
