Raman had discovered the famous ‘Raman Effect’ this very day 94 years ago in 1928 and was awarded the Nobel Prize in 1930. Since 1987, this day has been celebrated every year as Science Day to create a scientific temper in the youths. Speech Idea
While delivering a speech on this day you may recall the great scientist’s Bihar connection. The present-day students of physics might not be aware that once he had borrowed two pieces of diamond from the ruler of Raj Darbhanga Maharaja Rameshwar Singh for two days.

This diamond was supposedly the ‘Peshwa Diamond’, a diamond originally owned by Peshwa Bajirao and which Maharaja wore as a ring on his finger.
