Natasha Lyonne missed out on Sabrina The Teenage Witch role to Melissa Joan Hart
When she was just six, Natasha, 43, started modelling and soon went into acting, but it was a decade later when her career really hit off, which included appearing in 1999’s American Pie.
However, she’s now said that around the same time there were other huge roles that she didn’t get, and she’s listed them off.
Appearing on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, Natasha was playing a Q & A card game.
The first question she was thrown was: ‘Name one role a fellow actress beat you out for that you think should have been yours?’
‘Oh gosh, there’s a lot,’ she said.
‘I mean how far back do you want to go? I didn’t get Six in Blossom, or Sabrina The Teenage Witch.’
She added: ‘I didn’t get Curly Sue either.’
It was at this point Andy and fellow guest Alison Brie’s jaws-dropped as she kept listing off the roles.
‘I would have loved to see you as Six. What an interpretation of the part…maybe they can do a reboot,’ he added.
‘You know, it’s not too late,’ Lyonne said.
The role of Six ended up going to Jenna Von Oÿ, who played the role for five seasons from 1990 to 1995.
Sabrina of course went to Melissa Joan Hart, who starred as the character for seven seasons between 1996 and 2003.
While Natasha didn’t specify what role she went for in John Hughes’ 1991 film Curly Sue, it starred Alisan Porter.
Although she missed out on these roles, Natasha later went on to play Nicky Nichols on Netflix’s Orange Is the New Black, for which she received an Emmy nomination.
She’s also currently starring in the mystery series Poker Face.
Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen airs on Bravo TV in the US.
