Naomi Campbell has become a mother for the second time, with a friend claiming that she kept news of her baby boy a secret.
The 53-year-old supermodel announced on June 29 via Instagram that she had become a mum again, branding her son a ‘gift from God’.
Sharing the joyous news alongside a photo of her cradling her newborn, Naomi said: ‘My little darling, know that you are cherished beyond measure and surrounded by love from the moment you graced us with your presence.
‘A True Gift from God, blessed! Welcome Babyboy. #mumoftwo.”
She concluded the message, writing: ‘It’s never too late to become a mother.’
Following the birth of Naomi’s son, a source said to be close to the star has claimed she kept details of becoming a mum again secret.
Speaking to the Daily Mail, they added: ‘It came as a surprise to her wider circle after she only told a handful of people that she was becoming a mum for the second time.
‘Suddenly she postponed a work commitment… and the next moment, she had a beautiful baby boy. There was a lot of surprise, and of course happiness.’
Naomi had not revealed she was expecting her second child.
The fashion icon previously surprised the world in May 2021 when she revealed she had become a mother for the first time shortly before turning 51.
‘A beautiful little blessing has chosen me to be her mother, so honoured to have this gentle soul in my life there are no words to describe the lifelong bond that I now share with you my angel,’ she said at the time.
‘There is no greater love.’
Last year, Naomi posed with her daughter for the cover of British Vogue’s March issue and confirmed her daughter had not been adopted.
‘She’s my child,’ she told the magazine. I can count on one hand the number of people who knew that I was having her.
‘But she is the biggest blessing I could ever imagine. It’s the best thing I’ve ever done.’
