Naomi, AKA Trinity, makes IMPACT Wrestling debut almost a year after WWE walkout

Ex WWE superstar Naomi has arrived in IMPACT Wrestling almost a year after she and Sasha Banks walked out during an episode of Raw.

The former SmackDown Women’s Champion, whose real name is Trinity Fatu, made her first appearance for the company at tonight’s TV tapings in Chicago, Illinois.

While the big moment won’t officially air until Thursday’s episode of IMPACT, the company has shared a snippet of her entrance for the star’s ‘monumental’ debut.

They also confirmed the beloved fan favourite, now going simply as Trinity, will ‘will make her IMPACT debut with a live mic’ next week.

The company’s tapings continue in Chicago on Saturday, and IMPACT also confirmed she will have her first match for the promotion against KiLynn King.

Trinity hasn’t wrestled on screen since the May 13 episode of SmackDown, while she and Sasha, now known as Mercedes Mone, defended the Women’s Tag Team Titles against Shayna Baszler and Natalya two days later on a live event.

The following night, they walked out of Raw and the pair have since made waves on the runway at New York Fashion Week and beyond.

Back in January, Sasha – now going by the name Mercedes Mone – made her New Japan Pro Wrestling debut at Wrestle Kingdom before beating Kairi for the IWGP Women’s Title at Battle In The Valley the following month.

Neither star has officially given their side of the story when it comes to the circumstances leading to them walking out of Raw, even after WWE branded them ‘unprofessional’ later that week on SmackDown.

Fans are delighted to see Trinity back in the world of wrestling, with fans excited by what’s to come as one fan tweeted: ‘Hell yeah! I’m happy for her. She’ll be amazing in Impact and another great addition to that division.’

‘This is so great!! Congrats @TheTrinity_Fatu,’ wrote another, while a third person said: ‘Welcome back to wrestling Trinity. I am so happy for you.’
