My wife had note taped to windscreen slamming the way she parked – I’m furious
A MAN was left fuming after his wife got a note pinned to her windscreen complaining about the way she had parked.
The note was titled in capital letters: “Uninttelligent vehicle owner,” with the word unintelligent spelled incorrectly.
It went on to say: “The reason why a clone (sic) was placed there was to allow a furniture delivery.
“This thanks to you was not able to take place and delivery has to be rescheduled.
“Why people like you cannot understand the reason for actions is beyond normal comprehension.
“Your action has caused problems for numerous people.”
A snap of the note was later uploaded to Reddit by a user known as “bwsoldier”.
The social media post sharply divided commentators.
At least one person sided with the homeowner, writing: “You have now disadvantaged the numerous people that they will be writing letters to until the time it takes for a redelivery. That’s on you mate, you’ll just have to learn to live with yourself.”
Many though expressed sympathy for the husband.
One wrote: “Reminds me of this guy in my old Tesco who had the audacity to whip 2 cones out of his BMW boot and place them in the spaces to the left and right of him. 15 minutes later, both ended up on his roof and bonnet and then the cheeky f****r had the further audacity to complain to us about it.”
Another added: “Did they have permission from the council to put the cone there? Probably not.”
A third commented: “Yeah I’ve moved non-official ‘clones’ before in order to park on a public highway.
“Once had a guy on some random road come out and start remonstrating with me. I just smiled and said ‘oh I’m glad I found you, I wanted to warn you that blocking the public highway with cones is an offence, I really wouldn’t want you to get in trouble. No that’s ok, no need to thank me.’
“And with that I walked away.”
In the UK, the practice of putting out road cones or bins in order to save a parking space is not permitted.
Councillor Vernon Smith from Gloucestershire County Council, said: “Blocking the road with traffic cones or wheelie bins is dangerous, no matter the reason behind it.”
Cops also say it’s not “your right” to park in front of your house unless you have a designated parking space.
Motorists must comply with the Highway Code and not cause obstructions.
