My sneaky flight hack will allow you to pack tons more in your carry-on bag
A TRAVEL expert has revealed her incredible flight hack that will allow you to pack tons more for your trip – but admits it is very sneaky.
Chelsea Dickenson, better known as the Cheap Holiday Expert, came up with an ingenious way to cram more clothes into her carry-on.
She devised her holiday hack after spotting a TikTok user stuffing a huge pillowcase with outfits before embarking on a long-haul flight.
But the social media star wasn’t sure such a large item would be permitted on planes for short journeys, so came up with her own solution.
“I can imagine it works a treat for long-haul, but a pillow for short-haul where they’re very tight on carry-on is a bit suspect,” she said.
Instead, Chelsea swapped the pillowcase for a neck pillow which she was certain her airline Wizz Air would approve of.
In her own TikTok post, she told her 113,000 followers about the clever trick, touting it as a “lower risk option” for holidaymakers who want to haul a good chunk of their wardrobe with them.
The travel expert explained she had noticed her neck pillow was equipped with a zip that allows people to wash its outer layer.
But Chelsea realised the entry point had a lot more potential than she initially realised after removing the memory foam padding.
After ditching its contents, she hilariously declared: “And instead, here’s my pants!”
The budget break boffin then proceeded to round up underwear, tights, t-shirts, hats and leggings that she wanted to take with her.
Chelsea showed how she stuffed them inside the covering of her neck pillow, saying: “There is so much room, honestly!”
“Look how chocka full that is,” she continued. “I tightened it up, we are good to go!”
The content creator then proudly popped her travel pillow that was stuffed with clothing around her neck before boarding her flight to Vienna, Austria.
She told cheap travel lovers it would be a “game changer” for those who don’t want to fork out for a larger baggage allowance.
Social media users were wowed by her savvy solution, seeing the video rack up a whopping 74,000 likes.
One commented: “That’s actually genius!”
Another wrote: “Bonus – now you have a change of clothes in case your suitcase goes AWOL!”
A third added: “I did this just last week, I put two hoodies in there all rolled up and it left so much space in my carry-on.”
A fourth said: “Now that’s a hack.”
And a fifth joked: “Love it! Though not sure about putting my used socks in there on the way home.”
Chelsea went on to reassure her followers that she got through security without any issues.
In a follow-up post, she explained: “They do not know and they probably do not care what your baggage allowance is.
“Their job is to make sure you aren’t smuggling anything in that you shouldn’t be, from water to illegal items.
“It’s the actual gate where you need to be less suspect in your neck pillow. Even if they stop you at security, just say it’s clothes inside.
“Clothes are allowed, you are not going to have an issue.”
But Chelsea did admit there is one slight drawback to her popular holiday hack – her clobber wasn’t as comfy to rest her head on as the memory foam insert.

TikToker Tia fit all her gear for her five-day holiday to Spain in the spacious bag that perfectly fits in the carry-on luggage checker.
