My selfish neighbour kept blocking my drive… so I got my sweet revenge
A HOMEOWNER has revealed how they took revenge on their neighbour after she repeatedly parked in front of their driveway.
Sharing a photograph, the homeowner blasted their neighbour saying they must “believe the world revolves around them”.
The anonymous motorist took to social media to vent their frustration and seek advice from other drivers.
Reddit user @u/heybrehhh said they had been left fuming over the park – saying ” you can’t really park like this on accident”.
They added: “She either drove home hammered drunk or just didn’t care.
“I’m sure they believe the world revolves around them.”
Understandably annoyed, they took the drastic solution of getting the neighbour’s car towed.
And the poster revealed that their neighbour is now fuming at them as they didn’t expect this reaction.
The post has gone viral on Reddit with more than 69,000 views, and most commenters are on the poster’s side.
One said: “It’s amazing that people can park like that and think, I see absolutely nothing wrong with what I did.”
Another said: “Did they care that you were p***d about being blocked in this morning?
The Reddit user didn’t reveal in the post where they live.
PARKING WOES
But, in the UK, if someone is blocking your drive, it’s not technically illegal, although some might feel like it should be.
However, if their wheel is over the dropped kerb, they are committing a parking offence.
There are two types of dropped kerbs: those for pedestrians, especially those with buggies or wheelchairs, and those for drivers to access driveways.
Vehicles parked across dropped kerbs can be ticketed, even if they’re not fully blocking it.
Parking very close to a dropped kerb or directly opposite it isn’t illegal, even if it restricts access.
The Highway Code states that a car cannot cause an obstruction to the road, but this does not include obstructing access to private land.
In the rare case that someone is blocking your driveway and will not leave, you should call the local council as it’s a civil matter.
This comes after a mum was left fuming after drivers abandoned their cars across two spaces in a tiny parking lot.
Plus, a woman revealed that she got her neighbour’s car towed after she wouldn’t stop parking in her driveway.
