My neighbour damaged my old car and now dented my NEW one too – what do I do?

AN angry motorist has explained how they suspect their neighbour has damaged their new car after doing the same to their old one.

In the post, uploaded to Reddit, user StubbornBr1t is seeking advice on what to do next.

The Reddit user begins: “Hello all, I’ve recently got a new car and my neighbour had damaged my previous one.

“Now I park in two places, my flat parking spot and work.

“My work parking space has no one park on either side of me.

“My home space has a red fiesta park next to me and surprise surprise the scratches and dents leave, you guessed it, red paint.

The angry car owner had already spoken to the dozy neighbour about the damage.

They continued: “I have spoken to the neighbour about it and asked them to be careful as I’ve gotten most out with T-Cut.

“But now they have actually dented the car.”

The Reddit user asked others to give advice on what they should do in this situation.

“What is the route I should take?”

“As I have told them two times previously to be careful. Presumably, I should contact my insurance should it happen again?”

User Affectionate-Emu1374 replied: “Does your home parking have cameras or security? May be worth getting them involved.

“If it’s a small dent I wouldn’t contact insurance really as although it’s not your fault you’d lose your no claims and your policy would go up in price.”

While AdAltruistic8513 said: “If you haven’t taken photos of the scratches including the corresponding damage/paint evidence on his car, file the claim with your insurer as a NON-fault claim.

“Be aware though, if you’re due for renewal soon and are looking to switch, your No claims bonus is temporarily revoked whilst the claim is investigated.”
