My iMessage trick saves you from iPhone spam texts in just three taps
ALWAYS getting spam iPhone texts? There’s an easy solution that can save you loads of time.
A clever trick is built right into iMessage to solve your problems.
The hack was recently revealed by TikTok gadget whiz @mannytechlife.
Tech pro Manny said iPhone owners “need to know” the clever hack – and he’s not wrong.
If you’re a regular iPhone user, you’ll probably find that your Messages app is easily clogged up.
Often it’ll fill up with spam texts or verification code messages.
These texts can sometimes make it difficult to find important conversations.
Thankfully, there’s an Apple feature that lets you filter out texts from Unknown Senders.
It won’t block them (so you’ll still receive them), but it makes your iPhone inbox much tidier.
First, make sure your iPhone is updated to the latest iOS software.
Go to Settings > General > Software Update to check.
Then open Settings again and then choose Messages.
Scroll down and turn in Filter Unknown Senders under Message Filtering.
That’s three taps: Settings > Messages > Filter Unknown Senders ON.
So how do you activate the filters?
Go to the Messages app, and choose Filters in the top-left corner.
Then you’ll see that your Messages are split.
You’ll have filters for All Messages, Known Senders and Unknown Senders.
So if you want the tidiest inbox, it’s probably best to leave messages filtered by Known Senders.
That’s not all
There are loads of great iMessage hacks that you should know about.
For instance, you can respond to each individual message using an emoji.
Simply go into the selector and drag the emoji onto the text you want to respond to.
This works with Apple’s custom Memoji that look like you – adding extra character to your replies.
You can also unlock a hidden message menu that lets you send text effects.
Simply type out a message and then hold down on the send button.
This will pull up a special menu where you can animate the message.
But that’s not all.
This secret menu also lets you launch full-screen effects for the recipient.
Go into it and then choose Screen at the top, and you can flood the other person’s screen with emoji of your choosing.
Secret codes
And here’s one more trick for iMessage fans.
All you need to do is open a chat and then type “Pew Pew”.
You’ll find that the screen is filled with lasers – for both you AND the recipient.
There are some other codes you can try too.
Sending the message “Congrats” causes confetti to rain down.
And the same works if you write “congratulations” in a different language too.
Typing “Happy Birthday” will trigger balloons to float across the screen.
And then there’s “Happy Chinese New Year”, which unleashes virtual fireworks on iMessage.
Remember: None of these effects will show unless the recipient also has an iPhone.
And these effects are limited to iMessage only – so they won’t work on WhatsApp, Signal or Facebook Messenger.
