Mum praises game-changing item for travelling with kids – and it costs just £4
A MUM has praised the game-changing household item that makes travelling with young children a breeze, and it costs less than £4.
Escape reader Amy shared her top travel hack after going on a long-haul flight with a toddler.
Last year, the mum-of-one travelled from America to Ireland with her husband and her three-year-old son.
She told Escape: “We had a fabulous flight after buying a dog bed for my son to sleep on.”
“We laid it across the seats with him sleeping between us and he loved it.
“We could easily secure his seatbelt around him while on top of it and we folded it up under our arm when transiting.”
The parents also laid the dog bed down on the floor when they were transitioning through airports.
It meant their son could have a snooze on someone clear instead of napping on the floor or on uncomfortable chairs.
Amy hailed the dog bed as the best $20 she’s ever spent, but the Sun Online Travel Team have found cheaper versions on the web.
A dog bed can be bought for as little as £3.99 on Amazon.
Amy isn’t the first mum who has shared her advice when travelling with her children.
Mum and travel show presenter Samantha Brown has revealed that she always travels with an uninflated balloons.
She said: “This is a great toy, it takes up no room in your bag and it can be instantly inflated when a child needs to work off a lot of pent up energy, which is a lot.
“It’s better than a ball because you can hit a balloon as hard as you want and it never travels that far and it really doesn’t harm anything.”
One mum from New Zealand revealed the big mistake that parents make when flying with their kids and it makes their trip much more stressful.
Vanessa and Kevin took their two children on a three-and-a-half-month trip around the UK, France, Germany, Portugal, Italy, and Scandinavia.
The couple swear that boarding the plane last makes travelling with young children much easier.
Vanessa told Stuff.co.nz: “The least amount of time in a small confined space the better.”
These are the most child-friendly airlines available.
