How do you enjoy your chips?

Slathered in vinegar? Covered in salt? Or dipped into mayo?

If your culinary preference is all of the above, a brand new product from M&S could be for you.

The supermarket has unveiled a creative mayonnaise offering – with the brand claiming it to be a ‘world’s first’.

Enter, salt and vinegar mayo.

M&S says it’s not only perfect for fish and chips, but is ideal for dunking nuggets, fried chicken or pizza crusts into too.

However, when announcing the new product on Instagram, the brand was met with mixed reactions.

‘Oh my god, going to buy immediately,’ one person exclaimed.

While another added: ‘I’m so intrigued.’

But not everyone was on board with the mayo mash-up.

Someone else said: ‘Erm…..I have to admit I’m not sure about that mayo.’

Another simply wrote: ‘Yuk.’

Sarah-Jane Large, the product developer for sauces and condiments at M&S, said: ‘We had a feeling shoppers would love this saucy new launch but we had no idea it would be so divisive.

‘It’s the perfect condiment to have in the fridge for your next chippy tea, but I also love it on burgers, hot dogs, salads – everything really!

‘It’s the ideal thing to have on hand for all your summer barbecues and picnics.’
