Motsi Mabuse backs Kevin Clifton about Fleur East as pro slams judges
Fleur East, 35, took to the Strictly Come Dancing floor on Saturday night with an energetic Salsa to Beyonce’s Break My Soul for Halloween Week. The former X Factor star clearly gave the dance everything she had, but the routine received mixed responses from the judges.
Although all four judges praised Fleur for the “power” and “energy” she brought to the Salsa, some of the panel had a bone to pick with how she executed the routine.
Craig critiqued: “It was a little bit messy for me…you’re not closing your legs and you are coming out of the lifts really, really heavy; there’s no elegance to that.”
Shirley added that she would like to see “more finesse” and “more grace” in her routines, while Anton said Fleur was “on the cusp” of “going too far”.
Motsi, on the other hand, defended the singer.

“She has so much potential. She could be so good! But it’s not happening. At least, not yet.”
Kevin, who is expecting a baby with his partner Stacey Dooley, replied to the user proclaiming that he “loved” Fleur’s routine.
He went on: “We all enjoy things in different ways and that’s what’s great about art/dance/Strictly.
“My frustration is that i could have written the comments within seconds of her starting because it’s always the same when someone good gives energy.”
The Walham-born dancer then defended Fleur once again when Susan quipped: “Vito WAS on fire – Fleur was messy.”
Kevin then hit back: “I disagree. Salsa is not about finesse and beautiful lines.
“It’s supposed to be loose and a bit untidy. Sassy and rhythmical. Full of character and energy and enjoyment.
“I thought she was amazing. I personally find clean Salsas boring.”
