Motorist caught driving without a licence for THIRTY YEARS by stunned cops
COPS were stunned after a motorist was caught driving without a licence for THIRTY YEARS following a random stop.
The driver had been on the road using provisional license since 1993 when they were stopped in Warrington, Cheshire.
Two officers from Cheshire Constabulary were patrolling rural roads and had stopped multiple drivers when they came across the motorist.
As well as the dodgy licence, they were also found to be driving without insurance.
A summons has been issued and further investigations will be carried out on the driver’s insurance.
It is illegal to drive alone with a provisional licence.
Without a full licence you can only drive with L plates and a qualified driver present to supervise you.
On Twitter Cheshire Police Rural Crime Team said: “This evening I’m out on patrol with PCSO Stevens who covers Penketh and Cuerdley Police Burtonwood and Winwick Police areas to jointly target #RuralCrime #WildlifeCrime #Heritagecrime and #Wastecrime.
“One of the vehicles stopped found that the driver of the vehicle only held a provisional driving licence and had been driving on this since 1993!
“Whilst in the area we have also been focusing on #RuralRoads with numerous vehicles stopped.
“As a result, a summons issued to the driver for the offence of driving whilst not holding a full driving licence and no insurance.
“Further investigation will also be made around the vehicle insurance being void as a result and incorrect details being passed to the insurance company.”
