Motorcyclist is sent hurtling through the air after car turns in front of him
A SHOCKING VIDEO has revealed the moment a motorcyclist is sent hurtling through the air after a reckless car driver turns in front of him.
Insane dash cam footage and CCTV from a petrol station shows the motorcyclist crashing into the car as the driver makes a turn across a busy street.
The motorcyclist, who was wearing a white t-shirt and black trousers, was seen from the driver’s perspective slamming into the vehicle and being sent flying into the air.
The footage was released by a court this week – with the accident having taken place in Adelaide, South Australia, in 2020.
The rider flipped into a cartwheel before landing on his shoulder and coming to a skidding halt on the petrol station forecourt.
The footage from the petrol station showed the saloon waiting to turn right into a side street, before hitting the motorcyclist on the main road.
Narrowly missing a pole and performing two flips in the air, the rider was left with 14 broken bones, four fractures, serious head injuries and a punctured lung after the terrible accident, the Advertiser reports.
The biker also posted on social media that he had suffered a fractured skull.
The video was uploaded by @DashCamOwnersAu on Twitter- and most viewers were shocked after watching the footage.
One said: “Imagine if he had hit that pole, he would have either died or been in a wheelchair for the rest of his life. No excuse for the driver not seeing the rider, a clear sunny day, no blind spots.”
Another said: “It doesn’t matter how many motorcycles crashes I see, I forget about those the moment I get on my bike. They will never stop me riding.”
A third pointed out: “As a rider this is scary, and I’m so happy you didn’t smack that pole or catch a curb any worse than the ground caught you!’ one said.”
This comes after a terrifying collision sent a motorcyclist flying from his bike as a car made a right turn into an empty road.
And, an Audi A5 driver smashed into a motorbike and sent the rider flying in an alleged road rage attack.
