Morgan Wallen delays tour after receiving ‘bad news’ from doctors

Morgan Wallen has postponed six weeks of his tour after receiving “bad news” from doctors that he needs to take an extended vocal rest.

The 29-year-old “Last Night” singer broke the news Tuesday in a two-minute social media video assuring fans following criticism for abruptly canceling a Mississippi show last month.

“After taking 10 days of vocal rest, I performed three shows last weekend in Florida and by the third one I felt terrible,” Wallen began the clip.

“So I went in and got scoped yesterday, and they told me that I re-injured my vocal cords and that I have vocal fold trauma. Their advice is that I go on vocal rest for six weeks, so that’s what I’m going to do.”

Wallen stated that medical professionals said he could “permanently damage my voice” if he didn’t stop singing.

“So for the longevity of my career, this is just a choice I had to make,” the embattled country star said.

“I hate it, but I love you guys, and I appreciate all the support that you always give me,” he said.

The “Wasted on You” singer also revealed that he tore a muscle in his back while performing in Australia and will take this time off to heal that injury as well.

He claims his team is working on rescheduling his tour dates and will make his scheduled festival appearances “right” next year.

Last month, Wallen angered fans when he canceled his concert in Oxford, Miss., minutes before he was supposed to take the stage.

Although a jumbotron message claimed that concertgoers would get refunds for the scrapped event, one fan went viral for tagging the singer in an itemized receipt that totaled nearly $4,000 in expenses that she said she racked up to get to the show.

On April 25, the woman told The Post that no one from Wallen’s team had reached out to her about the receipt, nor had she received a refund for her tickets.

The “One Thing At A Time” songster is no stranger to controversy. In 2020, his “Saturday Night Live” performance was canceled after he was spotted maskless in a bar, making out with a woman at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Months later, the former contestant of “The Voice” was caught on video yelling the N-word during a drunken night out in Nashville.

His record label, Big Loud temporarily suspended him, the Country Music Association banned him from attending its 2021 awards show, and radio stations stopped playing his music.
