Monaco star agrees to join Man Utd after talks over £43m deal
United are in the market for a new central defender this summer with Eric Bailly set to leave on a permanent deal, while captain Harry Maguire is also considering his future after falling out of favour with Erik ten Hag this season.
Napoli’s Kim Min-jae is on United shortlist but according to L’Equipe, Ten Hag’s side are now pushing to complete a deal for Disasi.
The report claims that the Disasi has given the green light for his move to United, but the Premier League club remain in advanced talks with Monaco over a transfer fee.
It’s understood that Monaco are looking for a deal between €40 million (£34.4m) and €50m (£43m).
Disasi has also been linked with Manchester City and Chelsea and has made no secret of his desire to play in the Premier League.
‘Everyone knows the quality, the passion, and the spectacle that there is in this league,’ the defender said in April.
‘For all players that like football, this league will speak to them. It’s true that when I say these things, there are flashes in my head of Boxing Day and things like this. But, as I said, we’re not there yet.’
Disasi, who joined Monaco from Reims in a €13 million (£11.7m) deal in 2020, still has two years remaining on his current contract.
The 25-year-old has been capped three times by France and was part of their World Cup squad which lost to Argentina in the final in December.
