Moment idiot driver crashes while taking F1 track corner in a tiny hatchback
THIS is the shock moment an idiot driver rolls his tiny Citroen hatchback while trying to speed round one of the most famous corners in F1.
Footage shows the little boxy electric city car – a blue Citroen Ami – attempting to hurtle around the tricky Grand Hotel Hairpin in Monaco.
The narrow bend – which it Turn 6 on the world famous Grand Prix street circuit – is famously tough and is one of the most recognisable corners in F1.
F1 cars have slow down from their staggering speeds to as low as 31mph – with the superstar drivers applying maximum steering lock to get round the corner quickly and unscathed.
It has caught out some of the world’s best racers.
And it certainly did not end well for whoever was behind the wheel of the Citroen.

The little car can also only hit top speeds of 28mph, having no gear lever or clutch – and just three buttons for “drive”, “neutral” and “reverse”.
Footage shows the car come speeding down towards the hairpin in the principality – which has hosted an F1 race on its streets since 1929.
The driver then turns into the bend sharply as his tires screech.
Desperately trying to make the corner, the little car is soon balanced on two wheels as it heads towards the cameraman.
It then tilts over onto its side with a massive crash, shattering the car’s windows.
The hatchback then slides and slams straight into a black bollard – which sends the little vehicle spinning away like a top.
The car comes to a rest on its side – and it is unclear if the driver was injured in the crash.
Passersby can be seen on the pavement watching the crash unfold – and luckily none of them appear to have been injured by the stunt.
Social media users were quick to criticise the driver for the stunt as the clip went viral.
“A great example of when someone’s ambition outweighs their talent,” one said.
Another added: “Driver must have seen their life pass before their eyes.”
Others said “it’s top speed is 28mph, still faster than some drivers can handle” and “in the driver’s defense, this is the most hair-raising hairpin bend in the whole wide world”.
F1 returns to streets of Monaco on Sunday, May 28.
The world famous race was nearly rained off last year – but got going after a one hour start delay, running for 64 laps.
Red Bull driver Sergio Perez took the chequered flag ahead of Ferrari star Carlos Sainz and eventual world champion Max Verstappen.
Brazilian racing legend Ayrton Senna – who died in 1994 – has the most wins around the narrow streets, claiming victory on six occasions.
Brit champ Graham Hill and the legendary Michael Schumacher are tied for second in the all time rankings with five each, with French champ Alain Prost in third with four wins on the streets.
On the 2023 F1 grid, only Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton and Aston Martin ace Fernando Alonso have won the race more than once – with three and two each.

Red Bull duo Perez and Verstappen have each won the race once.
And meanwhile, Ferrari’s Mongasque driver Charles Leclerc has never won on his home track – despite near misses – leading to some pundits saying he has the “Monaco GP curse”.
