Modern Warfare 2 Reportedly Enters Alpha With Multiple Studios Attached

The sequel to 2019’s reboot of Modern Warfare, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, has reportedly entered an early alpha stage with a total of eleven studios attached to the project.

Activision is yet to confirm that Modern Warfare 2 will be the next Call of Duty title for 2022, but with Infinity Ward at the helm, many insiders are confident that the sequel will be arriving later this year.

It was even recently reported that it could be released earlier than the usual November timeframe, possibly due to the poor sales of 2021’s Call of Duty: Vanguard by Sledgehammer Games. This rumour has now been fueled even further as Modern Warfare 2 has reportedly already entered the alpha stage of development.

Modern Warfare 2 Enters Alpha Stage With 11 Studios Attached

The report comes from trusted industry insider, Tom Henderson, who recently uploaded a new YouTube video to his channel revealing that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (2022) has entered its alpha stage.

Henderson also claims that a total of 11 studios are aiding in the development of the upcoming sequel, but urged fans not to be concerned as things are rumoured to be going pretty smoothly behind the scenes.

To the disappointment of many, Warzone Pacific and Call of Duty: Vanguard both recently released with a large number of bugs, with Season 2 even being delayed by two weeks to allow the developers to work on the ongoing issues.

It seems like that won’t be a problem with Modern Warfare 2 though, as Henderson claims to have seen early footage of the game and states that “[Modern Warfare 2] looks really well in its current development stage”.

Make sure to check out Henderson’s video below for the full details, but remember to take all information with a pinch of salt as things are always changing behind the scenes.
