Mission Impossible 7: Dead Reckoning Actor Shea Wigham Talks About How He Got Into the Skin of the Villain

We’re only days away from the release of the Tom Cruise starrer Mission Impossible 7: Dead Reckoning Part One. As the hype keeps growing leading up to the movie’s release on 21st July, we wonder about the details. In the latest, Shea Wigham, who plays one of the main antagonists of the upcoming movie, spoke about his role and how it played out in the movie.

Shea Wigham made it “real personal with Ethan”

In Mission Impossible 7, we’ll see Ethan Hunt, played by Tom Cruise, being hunted down by various agencies from across the globe. The Community is one such intelligence agency that Wigham’s character Jasper Briggs is a part of. Speaking about how he portrayed his character, Shea Wigham said in a statement to ScreenRant,

“When you start a project, you always want a point of view. Your characters have a point of view, and I made it real personal with Ethan. But, also you also want characters that go through something by the end. And that’s what he was just saying. I think we both start in one place, which is the order to go get Ethan at any cost. And through that, all of a sudden, their characters go through and have a change [in their] point of view that’s interesting to watch. And our characters that usually don’t get that; they don’t get to flesh that out.”

Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning will be releasing two-parts and is being dubbed as the send-off to Ethan Hunt. But that’s not happening before we get to Tom Cruise pull of some of deadliest stunts ever. However it definitely is the beginning of the end of an era that started back in 1996.
