Miss Universe Philippines fan vote starts this week
MANILA, Philippines — The 2023 Miss Universe Philippines pageant has encouraged the fans to proactively engage in the competition by voting for their favorite delegates in a series of preliminary contests, starting with the “Photoshoot Challenge” that began on April 3.
“Got a favorite? Be sure to vote for them on the MUPH app to help them secure a spot in the live finale,” the pageant announced on its Facebook page. It also said that fans may download the app on the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
The pageant has now considered the fans to be the “11th judge” in the competition through the power of their votes. “All month long, tune in to our weekly challenges and cast your votes on the official Miss Universe Philippines App. Each challenge winner will have a secured spot in the live finale on May 13,” the organization said.
Voting for the first challenge will end on April 9. Next week, the candidates will engage in the “Swimsuit Challenge” where the fans may vote from April 10 to 16. The final contest will be the “Jojo Bragais Runway Challenge” which will run from April 17 to 23.
The Miss Universe Philippines pageant has also started selling tickets to its coronation night at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City. Nam Woo-Hyun from KPop group Infinite will render an exclusive performance for the live audience, so Filipino “Inspirits” are invited to take advantage of the limited “Inspirit Tier” tickets. “Exclusive perks and freebies are in store just for you,” the pageant added.
Those who are interested in watching the 2023 Miss Universe Philippines coronation night to catch Nam’s live performance may visit SM Tickets outlets nationwide, or visit their website. Three tiers are available for Filipino Inspirits—Inspirit VIP worth P12,780, Inspirit Lowerbox worth P5,270, and Inspirit Upperbox worth P1,490.
The Miss Universe Philippines organization has also earlier announced that a couple of lawmakers have joined the team. Ilokano Ako party-list Rep. Richelle Singson has been designated as the pageant’s “Adviser for Women Empowerment,” while Tutok To Win party-list Rep. Sam Verzosa is the new “Director for Charity.”
Reigning queen Celeste Cortesi will crown her successor who will compete in the 72nd Miss Universe pageant in El Salvador later this year. The eventual national queen will try to clinch the Philippines’ fifth crown in the international pageant. EDV
