Misinfo affected BJP since Jan Sangh days: Bhupender Yadav
Yadav, along with economist Ila Patnaik has recently authored a book ‘The Rise of the BJP’ that tracks the party’s history, political and economic resolutions, and political moves that led to its electoral success.
“BJP has been adapting to digital campaigns because it understands the changes in an evolving democracy. Issues such as how easy should accessibility of government services be to the common citizen, how necessary it is for women to have an equal say as voters, or how should parties reach to people better are part of the political discourse now because our party highlighted them consistently,” he said.
Yadav said UP CM Yogi Adityanath has done exemplary work to establish law and order, and during Covid-19. The Centre going back on farm laws was simply a reflection of its ability to take transparent decisions based on feedback from the ground, he said.
Patnaik said that while the UPA too had social welfare schemes, the implementation of the BJP’s policies were more effective, as the government made a sincere attempt to wipe out “rent seekers”, that existed in various layers between the government and beneficiaries, unlike the Congress that did not want to disturb the system.
