The Harry Potter star looked in good spirits as she smiled from her bed in the London hospital.

However, she was left gutted when doctors told her she could not go home after catching a chest infection.

She said in a follow-up post: “I spoke too soon. Can’t come home yet: I have a chest infection. Probably tomorrow. But at least I’m resting. Love to all. Thankyou for your lovely messages.”

Miriam confirmed her hospital stay on Saturday as she shared a photograph of herself in bed wearing a hospital gown.

She said at the time that she felt her condition was improving, but that she still didn’t feel quite like herself.

The BAFTA winner penned: “Thanks to my precious friends who thought of me on TAVI DAY.

“I did survive and am still in The Royal Brompton Hospital certainly till Sunday. I am growing energy but it’s still not quite me.

“I am putting this so you know how grateful I am for lovely messages. Slowly I’ll get back to The Chase and then Italy, Oz filming in [Western Australia] and return for 22 city book tour on Sept 7. Loving hugs. MM.”
