Minki van der Westhuizen glows in green at her brother’s wedding

Model and TV personality Minki van der Westhuizen has been known for her sense of style from the get-go and although many might comment on the torn jeans she so often wears, the dress she wore to her brother Ben’s wedding over the past weekend is proof that she knows what she is doing when it comes to fashion.

Draped in a green silk dress, Minki took to Instagram with photos of her and some of her family members all dressed up for the family affair.

In the pictures, Minki glowed in green as she posed with her mother, husband and others, clearly overjoyed as they celebrated the occasion.

Her post reads: “And just like that, I got a sister richer. Mr and Mrs Van der Westhuizen, for you I wish heaps of happiness and grace. We are crazy about you! It was the most wonderful weekend family wedding party. My cup is overflowing.”

She also thanked the talented maker of her and her mother’s dresses, Stephen van Eeden, in the post.

Minki coupled her dress for the occasion with simple, elegant sandals and sunglasses, as well as some bubbly in hand. Her hair was loose, with a soft wave, complementing her dress perfectly. Even her husband matched her outfit, with a grey suit that boasted a green tint.

Green might actually be Minki’s go-to colour when it comes to celebrating certain events, come to think of it. She was recently also seen wearing green, twinning with her mom, as they celebrated her grandmother Dinah’s 85th birthday.

On that occasion, the supermodel matched a green pleated skirt with a vintage check suit jacket and bright green flat mules.

Minki’s brother, Ben van der Westhuizen and the love of his life – a doctor from Stellenbosch, Lorraine Joubert – exchanged vows at the lovely Letsatsi Lodge outside of Vanrhynsdorp in the Western Cape over the weekend.

Ben is a clever craftsman who makes leather products under the name, Benna Leather Co. and he also farms with bees.
