What If… Miles Morales is a five-part limited series that unites various writers and artists to reimagine the popular web-slinger as other famous heroes from across the Marvel Universe. As of now, Marvel has released the first two issues. The first installment, by Ziglar and Medina, shows a reality where Miles takes up the shield as Captain America. Meanwhile, Issue #2, by John Ridley and Fardi Karami, presents the Spider-Verse star as Wolverine.

Hitting shelves on May 11, Issue #3 will reveal a universe where Miles eschewed the radioactive spider for gamma radiation and became the Hulk. Issue #4 will drop June 1 and depicts Miles wielding the mythical Mjolnir and protecting the Earth as Thor, God of Thunder.

The Miles Morales from the main Marvel universe (Earth-616) will finally join the group in the final issue. The original character was created by Brian Michael Bendis and Sara Pichelli, first debuting in 2011’s Ultimate Fallout #4. Miles has seen a considerable surge in popularity in the past few years, having starred in the critically praised Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, which is receiving a two-part sequel in 2023 and 2024. The wall-crawler is also the star of his own video game, Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, and he’s set to appear again in the upcoming Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.
